Street artist Kymo One’s first solo show in Antwerp.

'Psyche' is the name of the Greek goddess of the soul, and those familiar with Kymo One will immediately get the link to the classical statues often featured in his murals. However, the title also reveals a duality that is increasingly reflected in his work.

While making work in the public space requires an extroverted approach, in his studio Kymo One is more often confronted with his own mind. This forces him to ask introspective questions of what, how and why. An ever-widening spectrum of materials used allows the artist to continue this quest, of which this expo is a result.

Typical of Kymo One’s oeuvre is the use of figurative subjects from (ancient) art history, combined with bold graphic and illustrative elements. The limited color palette existing mainly of red, blue and purple makes his work instantly recognizable.
